Great tips! Some of us need to be forced to go off the grid. LOL. Every year for the past 22 years (except for a few years during severe drought when the lake levels dropped precipitously), my husband and I like to rent a house boat in Northern California. There’s no cell access, no internet, no TV. We have a bed, hot water, and a toilet so it’s nicer than camping. I read, he fishes, we BBQ on the grill, and we drink beer. Rinse and repeat. It’s amazing and we started taking the kids when we had them and they, too, enjoy it. Of course, now that they’re teens, their iPads come and they end up watching movies too. Still, it’s a great escape to get off the grid and recharge.
