Ha! As a Californian, I never quite understood the appeal of LL Bean but I did indulge in their canvas totes. They are cute, but HEAVIER than expected. I think what I'm curious about is what is up with Land's End and Eddie Bauer--are they supposed to be LL Bean competitors? Anyhow, I think we do what we can to comfort ourselves with some nostalgia when the world feels like it's on fire....
