Hi Erica,

Did I misread your comment then? I thought you were talking about my comments on Khadejah's story because there were only 3 comments posted earlier than the one you commented on, 2 of which were mine. I assumed you thought I was deflecting from Khadejah's valid points because I brought up how Asian Americans have been used as a wedge, how Asian American history has been shaped by racist immigration policies, etc.

I wasn't trying to excuse racist behavior when I commented on her story. I was trying to highlight factors that have influenced why some Asian immigrants so readily accepted anti-Black racism.

Anyhow, thanks for coming by to read my story and your kind compliment. I tried to be clear and thorough about where I'm coming from and what I've seen. I am embarrassed by the many Asian Americans (it's not just the Asian immigrants) who are racist. It may not change minds, but I do think they need a lot more education and awareness to understand the depth of how they've been manipulated to be racist to distract them from bigger issues like power imbalance.
