I thought it was quite refreshing that the man didn’t yell out something like, “Hey baby, lookin’ good!” or whatever it is that men who catcall think women like hearing.

I actually smiled because I did take it as a compliment. I think the way he shared the compliment helped lower my guard because he prefaced it with the first phrase, which acknowledges that most people in their cars aren’t accustomed to being talked to by someone in another car and that women don’t always welcome random strangers’ comments about their appearance. It seemed respectful to me.
