I understand that many of us feel trapped by societal expectations, so I can understand when a guy feels compelled to pay for a first date. Yet I think it’s a sign of trust and confidence to accept a woman’s sincere offer to treat the man to a second meal as an act of reciprocity. As I said, I gave up on the guy who refused to ever let me treat. It made me uncomfortable that he couldn’t fathom letting a woman pay.
