I'm genuinely happy for you, Lance. How lovely that you were never judged based on what you look like (presumably Asian) in all your experiences in the U.S. Yet I object to your insinuation that other Asian American writers must be "exaggerating" their experiences.

I have read many articles about pedestrians being hit by cars. But my experience living in rural area is much different as there aren't many cars (or pedestrians) around here. I have never had a car hit me while I was walking. Yet I NEVER wonder if other pedestrians who HAVE been hit by cars are just "exaggerating" their experiences of living in the US and being hit by cars while walking.
