Interesting opinion, Random. I disagree with your advice. I didn't know if it was a legitimate fee, which is why I asked the hostess rather than challenge the valet directly. I also definitely would not have been comfortable going back to the valet to ask for my money back. I was not the kind of 16 year old girl who was capable of confronting a middle-aged man who had the keys to my date's van. In that situation, HE had the power, not me.

I don't know if you're a man or woman, but I assume you were 16 once. Could you have done that at 16? Any of your friends? I don't think any of my friends would have. How many 16 year old teens are THAT confident?

To be fair, I haven't suffered greatly. I felt guilty that my curiosity led to the man being caught up in this disciplinary hearing. However, at the end of the day, he was there because of HIS actions, not mine. My actions just started the accountability process.
