My husband says I’m being over-sensitive but I worry seeing obvious signs of wealth will change our friends’ relationships with us. I think very few people are going to be resentful or dislike us because of it, but I have seen how it does add an awkward element once someone thinks you’re wealthy. Some people will joke around about it but others are far more uncomfortable and it does cause some distancing.
