Not to scare you off, but I have lived this nightmare already. Rodents chewed through the electrical wiring harness of my hybrid plug-in. Insurance covered the replacement cost ($20,000!) and the rental car but it was still a major headache. I also paid the $1,000 deductible.

It took over 6 months to repair as they had to ship the harness from overseas and completely take the car apart. This all happened while my car was parked in the garage, so do rodent-proof it before you get your new car!
