Sadly, the original anti-affirmative action law was passed in 1996. We tried to overturn the ban on affirmative action this past November 2020 with Proposition 16. It failed as over 9 million Californians voted against it. Despite CA's reputation, the reality is that too many people are stuck on the "equality" frame of the image I shared. They think giving everyone one box is most "fair" but that's far from sufficient when it comes to addressing the problem.
