Thank you for being so open about your struggles, Kevin. It is powerful to name the anti-Asian hate that has impacted your life. I'm truly sorry you've been hurt by ignorant people who never stopped to question what has influenced their "racial preference" in dating.
I wrote about this from my perspective as an Asian American woman who has always found Asian American men attractive. As I said in my piece:
"For what it’s worth, I have dated men of other races. I never let race stop me from dating someone and ultimately, I think one’s individual personality is more important than one’s race. Too many people are still hung up on race, though, and never get a chance to discover that person’s personality."
