Thank you for sharing this story. You're right, I have never met a Drupad, Drona, Ashwatthama, Drishtadyumna, or Draupadi.

It does make me curious about the stories behind the names of my Indian American friends (if their parents also chose to name them after gods or characters). I've noticed that most of my ABCD (American-Born Confused Desi) friends who become parents choose Indian names instead of common American names for their kids. It's unusual compared to other 2nd and 3rd generation American parents who almost always go with common American names for their kids.
