This entire story resonated with me. I, too, wish I could happily embrace the extra weight and the wrinkles, eye bags, and sunspots now that I'm 45 and trying to emerge from a long pandemic. I'm not doing much about any of it, though. I still forget to put on sunscreen most days. I never wear makeup to cover the sunspots up or apply special creams for the wrinkles/eye bags. I only exercise twice per week at my very fun kickboxing class that doesn't come close to offsetting my comfort eating.

Still, I have this lingering guilt that I really should be doing more to combat this "descent" into older age and heavier weight. Good thing my inherent laziness helps me continue to act like a more typical man who's aging. Although my husband actually uses his eye cream and puts on sunscreen. LOL!
