This was me, except instead of Strawberry Julius, I loved Hot Dog on a Stick's freshly squeezed lemonade! I did feel badly for those teens in those ridiculous uniforms, though. I wouldn't be caught dead in those colors! I worked a job as a parking lot attendant so that I could buy the extras like an Esprit sweatshirt. Thanks for the entertaining and nostalgic flashback.

My teen daughters are also growing up very different from me, with far more economic privilege. They won't be working as a parking lot attendant, since they're too busy with school and extracurriculars. But they're still pretty frugal so I'm thankful they aren't as materialistic as I was!
