Warning Signs Reduce the Fear of the Unknown and Help Us to Prepare For What’s Ahead

Wouldn’t it be great if more of us signaled what we need?

A few months ago, I read a news article about a Sonoma County, California couple who identified a new service to help rural homeowners after the devastating wildfires in California decimated so many homes.

Their company, Fire Safe Signs, makes custom street signs for rural homes to indicate to firefighters whether there is emergency water on site, whether any residents have medical needs or disabilities, and whether there are livestock or pets. The reflective sign is 18″x10.5″ and the street numbers are 4″ tall so the sign is easily read from a distance and at night. Most importantly, they note the width and height limits of the road ahead so firefighters know if their trucks can fit.

I immediately ordered one since my home is in a rural area and we have a private road after the County road ends. The sign came out perfectly and is very bold and easy to read.
