Yes, I think economy is perfectly reasonable on certain carriers. We flew Lufthansa on our way back from our first trip to Europe back in 2017. It was a fluke because a connecting flight was delayed so we missed our United flight. Flying Lufthansa across the Atlantic was a far more pleasant experience than United and made me realize I need to more carefully research carriers and not just go with American ones!
