Yes, I think the hard part is that women are also reluctant to ask people what their salaries are so they know what the market range is. Websites with salary info aren't always accurate/reliable, which leads to a chicken or the egg situation--how do I negotiate for what I'm worth if I can't get that info anywhere?

I would much prefer employers have transparent salary bands for each position with clear guidance for when someone can negotiate up (e.g., candidate has more years of relevant experience than the position requires).
