Yikes, I'm sorry to hear that. I've only seen a few Bollywood movies and I do know colorism is an issue in much of Asia (which I assume is at least partly related to class more than envy of White Europeans since lighter skinned folks could hide inside rather than do manual labor outside). Anyhow, I agree, Mindy and Maitreyi are breaking barriers. My girls watched "Never Have I Ever" with me and cringed so hard (while I laughed really hard) as that high school drama hit TOO close to home for them.
