You took the thoughts right out of my head! I agree with everything you've said. I, too, find it peculiar that people will clap without reading (I downloaded the Chrome extension that shows 1 view but 0 reads with that 1 clap!). Oh well! I don't go through the entire list of those who clapped and read everyone who did, so that strategy doesn't work for me.
